Profile: Jane Jones: Born in 1954, Jane lives in Bath with her husband Mark and their son Morgan, who was born in 1989. Jane's first outing into radio was when she started a community information service for Wiltshire Radio - she then became hooked on the business and went on to work for BBC World Service and BBC Radio Wales.
Jane has been at Classic FM since 1992, and was the producer of the Breakfast Show when it won the Sony Award for Best Breakfast Show in the station's debut year. Her worst moment in radio to date is arguably every broadcaster's nightmare - recording an interview only to find that the tape on the machine had no part of the interview recorded whatsoever.
Amongst her favourite broadcasters are Germaine Greer and Zoe Ball. She is musically skilled off air as well as on-air, as she plays the harp, She won several prizes in the Wales Eisteddfods in her early years. Other than that, she considers herself a dab hand at decorating - especially paper hanging!
If her life hadn't mapped out the way it has, her ideal job would have been as professional sportswoman - however, she considers her current job the next best thing.
Whereabouts: Jane presents Classic FM's 'Sunday Morning Requests' 9:00am-11:00am, remains on-air for the 'Most Wanted' Top Ten show, Sunday mornings 11:00am-12:00noon, and also hosts 'Lunchtime Requests' weekdays from 12:00noon-2:00pm.
