Profile: Andrew Ian Marriott. Andy was the first voice to be heard LIVE on Radio Trent 945 when it launched across Derbyshire & East Staffordshire on Tuesday 3rd March 1987.  He presented the Breakfast Show for approximately 18months from the station's launch.  With the splitting of AM & FM frequencies, Andy moved to the immensely popular AM sister station, GEM-AM, presenting mainstream programming as well as his very own 'Television Show' previously heard on Leicester Sound, and 'Pure Nostalgia'.  Andy has seemingly always been a massive broadcasting fan, and became and still is a continuity announcer for CENTRAL TV in the Midlands, and now CARLTON in the same area. He has also provided continuity for Carlton, LWT, Meridian TV & The History Channel plus others too.   More recently Andy worked on BBC Radio Nottingham afternoons for a short time, but in the main, teamed up with David Lloyd at Century 106, (the successor to Radio 106FM when Border Radio Holdings acquired the station in full), and brought back 'The Andy Marriott Television Show' not only to radio but to FM for three hours on a Sunday night.  (Archive recordings of Trent and Century shows are held in the Aircheck Radio ArchiveWhen the station's parent company sold out to Capital Radio Group and when David Lloyd joined the Radio Authority, Andy appeared on solely TV based continuity for CARLTON TV, although he did appear as a voiceover on a radio commercial for 'Multimedia' Computers on Derby's PRIDE-FM in 1999-2000 following his production of the commercial for the advertiser.  (Marvellous ad it was too - Ed) See the link to his website for more.

Whereabouts: The creation of SAGA Radio, with Ron Coles (ex-Radio Trent) at the helm, and the award of the West Midlands regional licence (105.7FM) to the group, has led to a return to the radio airwaves for Andy who now presents the afternoon show (1-4pm) Monday to Friday, 'Dinner at Eight' Saturday 8-9pm, and Sunday afternoons 2-6pm.  Andy is the station's Head Of Music.  He can also still be heard on TV continuity - it begs the question 'Does he ever eat or sleep?'
